About Us

Digital media consultant Seth Shapiro is a two-time Emmy® Award winner, a pioneer in the application of technology to some of the world’s leading entertainment franchises and a leader in the application of new tech to emerging business models. He has managed digital media initiatives for Disney, Warner Bros, DIRECTV, Cendant, Jones Intercable, ACTV and others, with partners including HBO, Showtime, STARZ, CBS, NBC, FOX, ESPN, the NFL, Major League Baseball, Microsoft, Sony, TiVo and Wink.

As Head of Production for DIRECTV’s Advanced Services Group, Seth managed over 20 service launches, designed the groundbreaking NFL DVR Highlights On Demand Service, and was a key contributor to the 2002 DIRECTV/TiVo Master Agreement. He has facilitated strategic and tech relationships for four of the six major media companies, has produced Feature Day and Date game titles for the Walt Disney Company and has managed over 15 cross-functional teams of creative, financial, tech and programming talent.

Seth is Senior Vice President, Cross Media Strategy at The Opportunity Management Company and Principal at New Amsterdam Media LLC. He is a magna cum laude graduate of New York University and was Adelbert Alumni Scholar at Case Western U. and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Originally a composer, he began his career as a startup employee at ACTV and founded internationally distributed music label KOE Recordings, where he produced MTV-selected video Realife I.

Seth sits on the Advisory Boards of OVP Venture Partners, the IP Media Conference, HD World and SATCON; and the Executive Boards of the Media Entertainment & Technology Alliance and the Interactive Television Alliance. He is a member of the Television Academy (Interactive Media Peer Group), the Producer's Guild of America (New Media Council), the Digital Coast Roundtable and a mentor at the American Film Institute’s Digital Content Lab. In 2005 he was nominated for a third Emmy and for the 2005 itvt Award for Leadership in Interactive Television. He has spoken at venues including UCLA, USC, Digital Hollywood, Building Blocks San Jose, TIECON, Promax/BDA, the Silverlake Film Festival, the Washington State Software Association, MIPTV/Milia and the Digital Home Developer’s Conference.
